Lawson Heights is located at the north end of Saskatoon and shares many amenities with the neighbouring Lawson Heights Suburban Centre. Between the two communities they have one high school, Bishop James Mahoney High School, and two elementary schools, St. George School and Lawson Heights School. The east border of Lawson Heights runs along Whiteswan Drive and the South Saskatchewan River. Enjoy a walk along the many paths throughout Meewasin Park or enjoy a scenic drive to Saskatoon’s downtown.

Most commercial development for Saskatoon’s north end is located in the Lawson Heights Suburban Centre. The Mall at Lawson Heights provides residents with various retail and grocery options. There are services and restaurants located in the area around the mall, as well as a number of strip malls throughout the community.

Lawson Heights Civic Centre includes fitness facilities, a wave pool and the attached Rusty MacDonald Public Library. There are a number of parks throughout Lawson Heights and Lawson Heights Suburban Centre, including Umea Vast and Umea Park, both of which often play host to city-wide slo-pitch tournaments. The Kinsmen Saskatoon/Henk Ruys Soccer Centre gives some indoor recreation options with 4 indoor soccer fields and 12 volleyball courts that have sprung floors to help enhance performance. The space is also commonly used for community programs and meetings.
