Homes for Sale in Brentwood, Calgary

This coveted northwest neighbourhood has been able to hold onto its mix of well-established charm and modern conveniences. Nestled between John Laurie Boulevard and Crowchild Trail, Brentwood’s friendly suburban feel and reasonable proximity to both the downtown core and the west edge of town - for those who like to escape to the mountains - make the area ideal for both renters and homeowners, whether they’re families, working singles or students making the short commute to SAIT Polytechnic, Alberta College of Art + Design or the University of Calgary.

Established in the early 1960s, Brentwood boasts a cozy mid-century vibe but still feels lively and is full of sought-after services. It ranks highest in the city for recreational opportunities, thanks to the hiking and biking available at nearby Nose Hill Park, the Sir Winston Churchill Aquatic & Recreation Centre and the busy Brentwood Sportsplex. With Northland Village mall at one corner of the community and Brentwood Village Shopping Centre at the other - and Market Mall just a few minutes away - residents appreciate the abundance of shopping opportunities, with several close-by grocery stores as well as plenty of boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops, as well as a few big-box stores.

Sense of Community

With the LRT line running along the south edge of the community, Brentwood is a favourite for commuters, but residents can also find much of what they need right in the neighbourhood, with an above-average selection of highly rated schools (including Sir Winston Churchill High School) and a large public library. But Brentwood also has those special things that no amount of city planning can guarantee: strong community engagement and plenty of friendly neighbours, many of whom have been lucky enough to call the community home for decades.

The Brentwood Sportsplex houses the area’s community association. Nearby the Nosehill Library and Sir Winston Churchill pool and sports centre, the Sportsplex is a convenient place for families to go skating.  The building also houses a mom and tots playgroup, a 55 plus bridge club and the Brentwood oldtimers hockey team.  Outside groups also make use of the centre fop activities including fitness classes, martial arts and dancing.  Brentwood hosts a popular annual barbeque and works to advocate community concerns regarding development issues.

Volunteers are needed for programs, fund raising casinos, community association tasks, family events, community events, sports and much more. Please contact the association directly if you or someone you know is interested in volunteering.
