Larkspur is a community nestled in southeast Edmonton and is part of The Meadows area. Located just east of Mill Woods, this neighbourhood offers quick access to Whitemud and Anthony Henday Drive. Rohit Communities, the developer, announces the launch of their newest townhome project called Larkspur Landing. These townhomes are an affordable option in the mature community. Additionally, Rohit Communities have formed a partnership with the City of Edmonton and the First Place Program. This program is an initiative to help first-time buyers gain a financial advantage with deferred payment plans when buying their first home.
Amenities nearby include places like Meadowbrook retail area, located in the southwest corner. The neighbourhood began developing in the late 1980’s and continued a steady growth throughout the years. The residential areas are predominantly single-detached homes, but mutli-family developments are also becoming more considered. Velma E. Baker School and Larkspur Park and located in the centre of the neighbourhood and the surplus school lands are located adjacent to these facilities.
Larkspur was named after an ornamental wildflower plant that blooms in many fascinating colours. In fact, all neighbourhoods in the Meadows are named after plants and flowers. A pipeline corridor runs from the north end of Larkspur to the south, which forms a linear park through the neighbourhood. This allows for great connectivity amongst the residents and allows for the natural beauty of the area to shine through.
