Chris Thomson is the Founder and President of Thomson Dwellings Inc. He is completely passionate about creating liveable works of art that capture the energy of a space while reflecting the homeowners’ personalities. An Okanagan native, Chris has lived and worked in the Kelowna vicinity for most of his life. He began building homes almost two decades ago. Thomson Dwellings is proud to have been recognized by the CHBA on numerous occasions as a Tommie Award Winner for excellence in function and design.

Previously, Chris was President of a development company that was one of the first to explore, design and implement carriage homes into Kelowna during the late 1990s and through the Millennium. He is an expert in understanding the City of Kelowna’s zoning policies and bylaw practices. With his supreme insight into niche markets, Chris developed his own company, Thomson Dwellings, to adapt and evolve with today’s market. His portfolio includes Custom Builds, Spec Homes, Home Renovations, Development and Strata Opportunities. Clients seek functional, comfortable, innovative and aesthetically unique places to live. Chris believes in every one of these attributes and incorporates them into each home that the company has the pleasure of building.

Most recently, Thomson Dwellings was honoured as the recipient of the 2017 Tommie Award for Best Infill Project. This particular award was of special significance to Chris, as he has diligently worked over the years to find opportunities to develop properties, while following the City of Kelowna’s mandate for Densification and Land usage.

Chris and his wife Nicole have three amazing daughters and two sweet dogs, Kona and Kooper. The family spends as much time outdoors as possible, camping, skiing and enjoying water sports. They additionally love spending time at home where they enjoy movie nights complete with carpet picnics! Home represents a vital space for Chris and his family. Thomson Dwellings is committed to exploring environmentally friendly “green” products. Incorporating reclaimed and recycled materials into each design adds a unique flair and functionality. Chris and the team have a deep love and appreciation for nature, stiving to bring the outdoors in whenever possible. Creating a Modern, Coastal vibe in many of the homes delivers stunning tranquility within each space.
