When Steve Fonnyadt Sr. started SF Homes in 1987 he had over 45 years of experience in the building and construction industry. He inherited a love of woodworking from his father who was a carpenter in Hungary.

When Steve Sr. came to Canada in 1956 he joined his brother in Calgary who was also working in the trade as a carpenter. In 1987 he decided along with his two sons he would turn his love of carpentry into a business. SF Homes has been going strong ever since.

Not only has Steve Sr. handed down his business to his son who is also certified journeyman carpenter, Steve Sr. he has handed down the skills, knowledge and the integrity that goes along with having a family business. Not wanting to completely retire he still shows up to work now and then to lend a hand.

Robert Sr. and his two sons now oversee all aspects of SF Homes. Continuing in their father’s and grandfather’s footsteps, they each have their own unique flair from unique detailed finishing work to custom designing and building on site “one of a kind” custom cabinetry. They are hands on from start to finish in all aspects of your custom home.

To ensure the highest standards and personalized service, we limit the volume of homes we build each year. Many of the tradesmen that work alongside us have been with us from the beginning and some we have known even longer. Every home we build is unique. You have a style and feel that you want in your home and we will work with you to achieve it, there is no detail to small or to large.

By being a "hands on" company we are personally involved in every aspect of your home from blueprints to completion.
