How Edison Homes began

Darrin grew up surrounded by construction, as his father was a carpenter. After graduating high school, Darrin completed his B.A. in Regional & Urban Development at the University of Saskatchewan.

 

Gaining experience in the home buying industry

In 1990, while pursuing a career with an engineering firm, Darrin and his wife purchased their first home. Darrin loved the experience so much that he spent the next six months studying and planning to be in the home building and purchase industry .

 

Young home developer in Saskatoon

Jordan’s passion for home development began in high school while helping to build the 5th family home. Right after graduating, he began selling homes for a local builder to gain experience in the construction industry. At only age 21, he co-founded Edison Homes Inc. and has never looked back. 

In order to deliver top-quality service in every aspect of Edison Homes, Jordan obtained extensive training in project management in Charlottesville, Virginia.

 

Experienced Saskatoon new home builders

Fast forward 20+ years, over 2000 properties sold, and a specialization in new construction sales, Darrin has learned a thing or two about what people really want in a home. Jordan is currently completing Construction Management through SAIT while he actively manages Edison Homes’ project planning and oversees the design/product delivery.

Darrin and Jordan spent many hours formulating the direction of Edison Homes. They saw an opportunity to create something unique in a world of uniformity. After visiting and studying home design concepts in major Western Canadian cities, they found something missing in new homes in Saskatoon – properties that are individual in character at all price points!
