HISTORY

Domingo and Company Construction Ltd was founded in 2006. They are high-end custom homebuilders with a strong work ethic and deep sense of pride in the homes they build. Domingo Martinez who started out at the age of fifteen as a labourer in La Coruna, Galicia, Spain, founded the company. He moved to Canada at the age of 17 and apprenticed under his father for 5 years to become a master mason. Afterward, he apprenticed for four years as a carpenter and upon graduation worked for various construction companies as foreman and superintendent. His knowledge and leadership eventually led Domingo to start out on his own as a general contractor in Victoria BC. Domingo has a particular love for modern home design but is well versed in styles from traditional to contemporary.

RELATIONSHIP

Domingo believes in strong relationships. He manages a small, specialized team allowing him to work closely with designers, architects and the homeowner. The team is close-knit, with core members having been with the company since the beginning. Designers and architects love working with him for his cooperative manner in helping designs evolve throughout the planning and execution of a home building or renovation project. Homeowners appreciate the often-seamless project experience and resulting craftsmanship. This seamlessness arises in part, due to the strong relationships he keeps with his sub-trades. Because Domingo has cultivated such strong relationships with the sub-trades, they have become like an extension of his own team. As a general contractor Domingo always retains tight control over his projects, being personally involved in all aspects from start to finish.
