Victoria's Best Home Builder

This company was established in 1969 by C.D. (Charlie) Davis with his son Jack Davis building family homes in the Victoria area. Charlie had lived and worked as a carpenter in Victoria since 1941. Jack was a new home salesman with Kasapi Construction and recognized his father’s quality work and high standards would be appreciated by new home buyers. In 1971 after several years of part-time laboring for his father, Charlie’s other son Wayne started working as a “framer” building new homes throughout the Greater Victoria area. This led to extended duties with other general contractors giving Wayne a wide base of experience in quality new home construction. In 1981 Wayne met his partner Andre Richard and together they built their first “spec” home just in time for the early 80’s slowdown which affected housing and construction in the Victoria area. Despite this initial non-profit experience, this work led to other “spec” projects and numerous “custom-built” homes as the economy recovered. Upon Charlie’s retirement as Jack had moved on to a real estate career, Wayne and Andre took over the company. Award Builders has constructed over 80 new Custom and Spec homes as well as numerous renovations in the Victoria area in recent years and is a long standing member of the Canadian Home Builders Association. Wayne served for many years on the board of directors and is a past- president of CHBA -Victoria. Andre is now retired but Wayne continues with new homes and renovations in the Greater Victoria area.
