For the past 35 years Atria Development has been redeveloping properties for residential, commercial and industrial use across the GTA, particularly in Toronto’s downtown eastern core. Our ventures include the challenging but rewarding task of converting abandoned buildings into affordable, functional studio lofts, where artists, photographers and those in the film industry can live and work. We have a long and proud history of spotting potential and breathing new life into neglected buildings and overlooked neighbourhoods.
Atria Development has been a pioneer in the revitalization of the Queen-Carlaw community for more than three decades. In recognizing the potential of this neighbourhood’s rich architectural history and character, we were among the first to pursue and succeed at securing residential zoning rights to this area’s industrial buildings. By creating unique living spaces, Atria Development has set the foundation for reintroducing Toronto singles and families to this community.
Our development projects aim to capture and merge the character and elegance of the past, with the sleek urban design of the present. Our hugely successful i-Zone liveworklofts project in 1999 was followed quickly by the Parkwood Residences in Oshawa, the more recent Garment Factory Lofts in Leslieville and Kimberley Court in The Beach.
Atria is a family-owned company led by Hans Jain and Vipin Jain, whose father, Gyan (John), an engineer originally from India, launched the property development and management firm more than three decades ago. Today, Atria Development continues to revitalize, renew and bring new life to industrial urban areas. Our tenants and homeowners are the motivating forces behind the successful, caring company we are today.
